Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for an Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. Later, she would be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was at the junior national championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She won the competition in 1970. In 1972, at the communist nations' meet for junior athletes before the Olympics she was awarded three gold medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974, she became the overall junior champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. The year was 1976 when she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman ever to remove the bars in parallel with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started skating figure with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured ice-skating with actors.
