Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. She is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. The first Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be released on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway on March 20, 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
